About Me:Hi, I'm Nelson. I don't do much, or get out much, or talk much (unless I'm talking to the right person). Nevertheless, I think I am a rather peachy guy and you should think so too.
Music:I am a rock person.
Movies:Munich, Zeitgeist, Blades of Glory, A Beautiful Mind, etc.
TV:House, The Tonight Show, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Family Guy...
Books:Never Be Lied to Again, The Darwin Awards, New Rules.
Likes:Vegetating, graphic design, fine art (pencil, ink, pastel), gaming, lethargy.
Vices:Impatient, easily irritated, very bad at comeback lines.
Virtues:Though I am easily annoyed, I tend to not show my anger and try to be diplomatic... except when dealing with my parents because they are infuriating.
After much speculation and pacing around my room, I finally decided to give those Pearl people a call regarding the unprecedented delay in my order, and surprisingly, I actually got a response. I expected even more gallons of idiocy. They told me about certain difficulties, but they never told me when the order would arrive though, which leads me to my next paragraph.
Due to Pearl's evident care-free foolishness, the delivery update came only from Fedex and my account information with Pearl was still as empty as a drained eggshell. This of course leads me to some more unease and suspicion. My order is scheduled to come today, so we'll see if these guys aren't total supply depots of incompetence.
I read that the next installment of this gory series is going to have a whole bunch of new characters to be introduced. I hope Midway doesn't keep going on their usual course by convoluting the story by injecting a gigantic mish mash of nutty fighters. Big no no Midway. And I heard only a few old characters will return. At least I have the security of knowing that Scorpion and Sub Zero will still be around.
I ordered a bunch of presentation boards from Pearl a few days ago, and there is still absolutely no status update at all. I need them by April, and these people are failing my expectations. Actually, I didn't really have very good expectations since I've heard that Pearl isn't too reliable, in person anyway. I wasn't sure if it applied to the online experience but that seems to be the case. A shame that one can't order online from Jerry's.
I watched a Portuguese film in class the other day... in translation of course. I don't think that I have ever experienced so much eyestrain in my life. The film was kind of modern, but the director decided to do the film in black and white. Okay, I'm fine with that, but the subtitles were in white too. Not a very good formula, since there was a plethora of occasions where those painfully white subtitles were on painfully white backgrounds so I couldn't even read them. And I sit on the front row. At one point, I simply gave up and pretended to understand Portuguese.
As for the plot of the film, I found it to be somewhat cliche, from what I understood of it anyway. The only part I really enjoyed was when the antagonist got stabbed in the neck with a fork and subsequently smacked in the head with a plate. Good stuff.
This post has absolutely nothing to do with art, but I figured I'd jot it down anyway to blow off some steam. I lost my cell phone on the bus today... slipped right out of my pants pocket as I was getting up from my seat. I didn't find out until a few moments after I got off at my stop, and in a blaze of futility, I ran after the bus hoping to catch it at its next stop. That didn't work out so well, since in addition to losing my phone I lost my breath too. Maybe I should give more rounds on that exercise bike. To add an even higher dosage of futility, I walked and jogged to Penn Station only to find out that the bus left me again.
Seeing as how this took place in Newark, I highly doubt that the person who may have found it would be willing to return it to the right person.
